1.Robotics:

  • What is robotics?
Robotics is a branch of engineering that involves the conception, design, manufacture, and operation of robots. This field overlaps with electronics, computer science, artificial intelligence, mechatronics, nanotechnology and bioengineering.
  • History of robots:
The definition of “robot” has been confusing from the very beginning. The word first appeared in 1921, in Karel Capek’s play R.U.R., or Rossum's Universal Robots.

Importance of robots:

Take Brett. during a UC Berkeley lab, the humanoid robot has taught itself to overcome one among those children’s puzzles where you cram pegs into different shaped holes.

No one told it the way to get a square peg into a square hole, just that it needed to. So by making random movements and getting a digital reward (basically, yes, do this quite thing again) whenever it got closer to success, Brett learned something new on its own. the method is super slow, sure, but with time roboticists will hone the machines’ ability to show themselves novel skills in novel environments, which is pivotal if we don’t want to urge stuck babysitting them.

Over at Google it's , albeit both have four legs, the robot’s body is mechanically distinct from a dog’s, in order that they move in distinct ways . Then the researchers transferred that knowledge to the important robot within the lab, and surely , the thing could walk—in fact, it walked even faster than the robot manufacturer’s default gait, though in fairness it had been less stable.

Internet of Things:

  • What is internet of things?

The internet of things, or IoT, is a system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines, objects, animals or people that are provided with unique identifiers (UIDs) and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction.

  • How IOT works?
An IoT ecosystem consists of web-enabled smart devices that use embedded systems, like processors, sensors and communication hardware, to gather , send and act on data they acquire from their environments. IoT devices share the sensor data they collect by connecting to an IoT gateway or other edge device where data is either sent to the cloud to be analyzed or analyzed locally. Sometimes, these devices communicate with other related devices and act on the knowledge they get from each other . The devices do most of the work without human intervention, although people can interact with the devices -- as an example , to line them up, give them instructions or access the data.

Why iot is important?

The internet of things helps people live and work smarter, also as gain complete control over their lives. In addition to offering smart devices to automate homes, IoT is important to business. IoT provides businesses with a real-time check out how their systems really work, delivering insights into everything from the performance of machines to provide chain and logistics operations.

IoT enables companies to automate processes and reduce labor costs. It also cuts down on waste and improves service delivery, making it less costly to manufacture and deliver goods, also as offering transparency into customer transactions.

As such, IoT is one among the foremost important technologies of lifestyle , and it'll still devour steam as more businesses realize the potential of connected devices to keep them competitive.

3.Nanotechnology:

  • What is nanotechnology?
Nanotechnology is science and engineering at the scale of atoms and molecules. It is the manipulation and use of materials and devices so tiny that nothing can be built any smaller.

  • Importance of nanotechnology:
Nanotechnology is helping to considerably improve, even revolutionize, many technology and industry sectors: information technology, homeland security, medicine, transportation, energy, food safety, and environmental science, among many others. Described below is a sampling of the rapidly growing list of benefits and applications of nanotechnology.

  • Benefits of nanotechnology:
Recent research done by scientists at the University of Bath and Bristol has used nanotechnology to develop a pacemaker that would help prevent coronary failure and extend the lives
of those who have suffered from cardiovascular disease.
In food science, the utilization of nanotechnology can potentially elongate the lifetime of fruits and vegetables.
This could be achieved, for instance , by putting nanoparticles of silver into foods to figure as an antibacterial agent.6 These nanoparticles wouldn't be an outsized enough component of
the food to possess a harmful effect or alter the flavour .
In fact, many food manufacturers already use nanotechnology in food.

4.virtual Reality:

  • What is virtual reality?
The definition of virtual reality comes, naturally, from the definitions for both ‘virtual’ and ‘reality’. The definition of ‘virtual’ is near and reality is what we experience as human beings. So the term ‘virtual reality’ basically means ‘near-reality’. This could, of course, mean anything but it usually refers to a specific type of reality emulation.

  • Features of virtual reality?

There are many various sorts of computer game systems but all of them share an equivalent characteristics like the power to permit the person to look at three-dimensional images. These images appear life-sized to the person.

The aim is for a seamless join between the person’s head and eye movements and therefore the appropriate response, e.g. change in perception.

A virtual environment should provide the acceptable responses – in real time- because the person explores their surroundings. The problems arise when there's a delay between the person’s actions and system response or latency which then disrupts their experience.

  • Importance of virtual reality:
Virtual reality is the creation of a virtual environment presented to our senses in such a way that we experience it as if we were really there. It uses a host of technologies to achieve this goal and is a technically complex feat that has to account for our perception and cognition. It has both entertainment and serious uses. The technology is becoming cheaper and more widespread. We can expect to see many more innovative uses for the technology in the future and perhaps a fundamental way in which we communicate and work thanks to the possibilities of virtual reality.

5.Space Tourism:

  • What is space tourism?
Space tourism is another niche segment of theaviation industry that seeks to give tourists the ability to become astronauts and experience space travel for recreational, leisure, or business purposes. Since space tourism is extremely expensive, it is a case of a very small segment of consumers that are able and willing to purchase a space experience. There are several options for space tourists. For example, Crouch et al. (2009)investigate the choice behaviour between four types of space tourism: high altitude jet fighter flights, atmospheric zero-gravity flights, short-duration suborbital flights, and longer duration orbital trips into space. Reddy et al. (2012) find the following motivational factors behind space tourism (in order of importance): vision of earth from space, weightlessness, high speed experience, unusual experience, and scientific contribution. Currently, only high-altitude jet fighter flights and atmospheric zero-gravity flights are commercially available to tourists in the space tourism sector. Accordingly, this section provides an example of each, whilst the potential for suborbital and longer duration orbital trips into space are discussed later in this chapter.

  • Importance of space tourism:
The world already benefits greatly from space technology, especially in terms of communications, positioning services, Earth observation, and economic activity related to government-funded space programs. Humanity’s outer space capability has grown remarkably since 1957 when Sputnik was launched. Since then, we have witnessed humans land on the Moon, 135 flights of the Space Shuttle, construction of the International Space Station (ISS), and the launch of more than 8,100 space objects, including dozens of exploration missions to every corner of the Solar System. In March, the US announced an accelerated schedule to permanently return humans to the Moon in 2024. Many other nations are also focused on a return to the Moon. With an explosion of more than 2,000 commercial space companies, including those building communications satellites, orbital launch vehicles, rovers for the Moon and Mars, orbital habitats, space manufacturing platforms, and space greenhouses, the world’s commercial space capabilities are quickly expanding beyond our satellite industry, which over the last year already brought in more than $277 billion in global revenues.

  1. Great post. Internet of Things(IoT) has been one such technology that is going to have an impact not only today but also in the coming future. The term ‘connectivity’ is no more confined to laptops and smartphones, as we’re witnessing a transition towards smart cities, smart homes, smart retail.
